Facebook-owned app Instagram stated in the Twitter announcement that previews of IGTV videos would now appear in the main feeds on the home page. The company Tweeted on 7, Feb 2019 – “now, you can preview IGTV videos in your feed. When there’s a new video from someone you follow, you can tap from your feed to watch the full video in IGTV.”
Instagram has antagonistically pushing content in multiple ways, such as putting out notification banners for new videos and enabling users to share IGTV videos previews to their own Stories. In a blog post, the Instagram spokesperson said, “with IGTV previews in feed, we’re making it even easier to discover and watch the latest video content from your favorite follows.”
This is the latest update of the platform which has rolled out in the market to grow IGTV engagement. If any new video is being uploaded by someone you follow, you can tap on to the video from your feed to watch the full video in IGTV.
Despite this, the vertical video platform has not satisfied the users and show disappointment to some extent. The initial excitement for IGTV was once thought to be a potential game-changer, but it has to establish its worth especially to content creators who are seeking to monetize their creativity and efforts.
The main aim of Instagram behind “launching the IGTV in 2018” is to empower users, influencers & content creators to upload videos and explore their creativity to the desired audience. Here, IGTV previews in the feed may help in the short run, but with the same time, it likely annoys most users who see it as an additional mess.
